AN OUTING WITH MY MOM

My mom came down to KL with the purpose of helping my sis to move her belongings and driving together with her back up to Penang where she will start working there after her 4 long awaited years doing her tertiary studies. Yay... My mom will be accompanied.

This time around, her presence in KL was really specially as it coincides with her birthday. And of course, this month is my most dried up month after having 4 wedding invitation, and to pay up for my road tax and car insurance. Now, I have to figure out a way how am I gonna cough up some cash to go to Bangkok for work.

On her way down from Penang, she called me and told me not to inform my sis that she's on the way down as my sis had just touched down from her Bangkok trip. However, knowing me, I did the other way round. I called her to come over to my place to surprise mom and of course, cooked ourselves dinner, as in, the easiest dish, Bak Kut Teh where my sis will get the cake.

Usually every year at this moment, I would be calling up my florist to deliver her the traditional bouquet of roses and followed up by a birthday call to my mom. But this year, it's different. My sis and I decided to bring her up to Genting Highlands which I presume, she has not laid a step into the place for nearly 20 years. We didn't do much. No gambling and no theme park experience which I was afraid that she could not take it. Therefore, we only had the cable car ride chuckling and munching over chest nuts and guavas that she packed with tender loving care at home. And of course plus the long and winding road downhill right after the coffee break at Starbucks. LOL...

All in, we did spend some quality time together this time around. Although we did not get her any present for her birthday, I believe, spending time with her is the best birthday present for her so far. Besides, it has been years since we celebrated our mom's birthday in the physical presence of her children. And I guess it is about time for us to do so.... Maybe next year, we'll bring her somewhere for a holiday.
