THE SMART TUNNEL

I took a ride home via the newly completed Smart Tunnel linking Sg Besi Road and Jalan Tun Razak by passing most of the traffic jam along the road above. The ride I would say, so-so and not really impressed. I could say the completion was kind of a rush job actually. Though it was a trial period, the ride wasn't smooth, the road was bumpy and what more, I felt as if I was trapped in a box while driving thru the tunnel. Even then, there wasn't any phone reception at all down there. It kept me wondering how should I cry for help if I were to be trapped inside.

There is only 2 lane and it leads to either Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Tun Razak. As soon as I arrived at the exit for Jalan Tun Razak, I kinda find myself getting stucked in the usual traffic jam. Besides, the road leading to the exit was then mellowed down to 1 lane which automatically created a bottle neck and what more, when there is no room for tunnel expansion in near future. Hmmm... I am wondering what will the response be if the fee for the toll is bound to be high.

However, it is still a good attempt to ease the traffic woes and flood in the heart of KL.

Herewith are the pictures I managed to snap.

CHILLING OUT AT RONALDS

The recent days I have been very busy. Be it for my personal life, be it for my working life. I don't seem to get the rest which I longed for for a long long time....

I have been appointed to join as a member for our recreational club to organise events to further motivate our office members. It sounded easy but at the same time, it's kinda tough especially when your objective is to be innovative enough on not to compose some events which is predictable by people. Sometimes I wonder to myself on whether should I branch out to do a freelance event organising. I kinda like this kind of work actually as the events that I do, isn't boring and surprises people sometimes.

At Ronald's chill out day, we've started of as a family event where children can swim, adults can play badminton... and to me, that's kinda boring. LOL... so we, packed up with our surprises, gathered the people and throw in the fun. This time, we made them dress up their own boss. Yummy... it's revenge time! muahahahahahah...

We've dedicated icons for the teams to dress. They shall be dressed as Phua Chu Kang, Marilyn Monroe, Bibendum and Elvis Presley. And they will have to be dressed up using newspapers only. I really admire their work... We had a good time laughing and enjoying the 'in the making'. And of course, as usual, we had the Michelin way of taking pictures...

I was really tired after the event. I'd even have cramps throughout the nite. What more having to visit the poolside toilet every now and then to 'cebuk'. hahahaha

I have to thank my group mates as well. Without them, I don't think this event would be a success.... Cheers!

NATURE OF LIFE

I wrote this poetry a long long time ago and wishes to post it up here one day. I finally found a reason to do so today, after hearing so many recent unhappy facade that my friends and family are going through.

Here it goes...

The ocean is mighty,
dividing the sky and earth.
The tide may recede,
but your past remains the same.
Accept what you cannot change,
and change what you have accepted.

Standards set...
Are definitely by men,
Fighting each other,
Scrambling to reach the grandstand.

Man, oh man...
Why can you see and understand?

Depression will set in,
Depression will lift,
Happiness is but fleeting,
In the sinful world of suffering.

The pains and hurts,
That sears our lives,
And hidden behind,
The facade of apparent smiles.
We cannot help,
but to walk thru life's unending trials.
For man is within the bondage,
Of deception and wiles.

Life is full of misery,
Who can we blame?
There is nothing one can gain,
Except reducing the hurts and pains.

PAUL... THE OTHER COUSIN OF MINE FROM DOWN UNDER

Last week Paul gave me a surprise visit from Sydney.... er... not really a planned visit to surprise me actually. His actual visit is that he had to fly in to attend his grandfather's demise. I was prepared to stand by him in event he needs me. Yet, I was kinda excited to see him.

I took him in to stay with me which finally gave us the opportunity to catch up for the seven years of life that we have not been able to share and communicate. Usually it's via his mom or Daven. And you know what, I tend to find that we have a lot of things in common a.k.a. view points, insights, opinions, relationships, lifestyles, how he prefer one of my cat to the other one..he's just like me.... On the other hand, there are some view points that we totally share the opposite. But one thing is for sure, I definitely have better taste than him. MEEEEOOOWWWWWWW!!!!.....

I took him clubbing, pubs to chill, shopping at the Curve and Bintang Walk which with no doubt, we had hell of a good time. I have never enjoyed clubbing and shopping like this for a long long time. And what more, the shopping part! No matter how tired we were, we can't help cracking up! Lots of laughter, and silly jokes we cracked on each other. I will always remember the day that we had our drinks by the pool in Westin. We practically had a world of our own and shared the deepest secrets ever. I had a good time and hope he had one too. He gave me a remark that made me chuckle "You've changed, cuz!". I can't help it but it keeps repeating at the back of my mind.

He'll be back again in September with Steve this time or maybe in August for work. I really looked forward for his arrival. I hope to get Daven up to KL as well during that period before I fly off for my holiday in September. This is where the 5 of us will then party all night long. Daven, you better buckle up and head on to the clubs with us. I don't wanna hear you whining!

On the last day of his visit in Malaysia, we realised that we have not actually taken any pictures together. But... we did manage to snap some photos very candidly actually... I shan't share the details of it here...

Sent him off to the airport this morning and I believe, by now, he has already landed safe and sound.

...Have a good time in Perth Cuz. Love ya!
