When was your last visit to the National Zoo? I always wondered whether are we really watching the
animals or is it the other way round? They must have been so bored being caged up almost their entire life span in this part of Earth and the one and only thing that kept them entertained is actually observing us,
the human kind. So the question is, who's watching who eventually?
The weekend was really hectic for me. Despite clubbing throughout the night till wee hours in the morning, I had to wake up as early as 6am on a Sunday to gather ourselves at our office so that we could convoy to the National Zoo as most of us, do not know the way there. I was as if a zombie who is yawning all
the way not longing for blood, but for my bed as I only slept for 2 miserable hours. Thank god I have my bud picking me up right from my doorstep. I needn't drive for the day. Hoorah! But the moment of forcing myself up for the day was really horrid. Thank god I did not have a hang over. Or maybe I should because then I'll be well hung!
We arrived at the office at almost 7am realising that most of our colleagues are already finishing
their breakfast. However, we weren't the latest. There we had breakfast and quickly pack ourselves up into 2 seperate cars and head towards the animal land. The visit to the zoo this time is actually for charity with the theme "Walk The World - Fight for Child Hunger" I was thinking to myself,
shouldn't we be fighting for hunger and freedom for the animals instead of the children instead? Upon parking our vehicles, we have another set of colleagues eagerly waiting for us at the entrance with their loved ones. Seeing them walking together for
this is really sweet. We met up, grab some photos and head on inside for the breakfast which is prepared for us.
The walk only commenced right after we warmed up ourselves. But I was pretty tickled on the gestures of some of my colleagues as they warm up as if they
were dancing. The sight really cracked me up. We were informed that the journey of the walk was about 3.5km and upon completing the walk, we tend to realise that the journey wasn't really that long anyway. Maybe we were pretty much entertained
with ourselves with the animal observation and trying to compare the animals to some of our colleagues.
We proceeded to the games and lunch right after. But what do you think that entertained us the most? It's not the coconut bowling.
It's not the darting. It's not the walk but it's the soap bubble blowing competition we had that kept us amused especially when I tried to impress them by blowing
bubbles with smoke. I had to keep it low profile as I do not want children below 10 to start smoking just to fill up the soap bubble with smoke. Bad bad influence.
Upon finishing lunch around noon we then split off to one of our colleague's house for her wedding ceremony. By right, the journey to her house should only take 15 minutes but it took us 45
minutes instead. The sweet driver of the next car of our convoy could not catch up with us although we only drove for a miserable
60kmph. We had to do a lot of goose hunting on the road instead. LOL.... But after all the dramas, we managed to get to her house finally. She looked pretty awesome. But of course, it's her day to be the queen anyway... And we're the ones who were lowly dress for the occassion... Imagine attending a wedding reception in shorts? It's really a laughing stock!
We left her house an hour later after series of photo shooting and I slept like a log. I only woke
up realising it's already 6.15 and in another 45 minutes, the wedding dinner of one of my course mate is going to start. I have been forewarned that the dinner will start on time as the guest would already be there as the wedding ceremony and reception is at 5 in the evening. I rushed to groom up myself, called another coursemate of mine telling him to head to the venue first and drove like a lightning to the venue. I have never been in such a
rush for err... I can't remember when. It could be the night before. hehehehehhe....
As soon as I arrived at the venue, I was impressed that he actually held a garden wedding ceremony which is really an ideal kind of wedding despite the weather. The other coursemates of
mine whom some that I have not seen for the past 5 years started turning up one by one. There we go, started raising all those boring lines again. Throughout the whole night, our conversation revolves on "How have you been? How's work? When are you getting married?" But by the end of the event, we started cracking jokes just the way we did it long time ago. It was indeed an awesome night and the busiest moment of my life last weekend. I guess I have really walked the world today.... I'm dead tired!
