Slow Dance

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital. It was sent by a medical doctor.... It made me cry.

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

Interest and Income?

What to do when you have lots of interest? You turn them into $$$. That usually benefits you.

I learnt it from one of my singing buddies cause I remembered I asked her if there is any other way to make more money? She said, "all you need to do is turn whatever you like doing into an income. It is usualy successful!" Little did I know that I am now doing what she is telling me.

I have now utilised the creativity that I have with me and churn it into income making. My second so called money generating interest. My first was my singing. LOL!!!

Reason, Season or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.

Sometimes they walk away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

Mr Pengitt

Talking about teddy bears, I think Mr Pengitt is quite entertaining. Each time i sees this video, I'll always smile.

Under The Shadow Of Your Wings

It took me many many years to finally find this song. I still remembered how it was sung back in my uni days with Brandon. This song was sung in the care group. I find the song and tune meaningful where it kept playing in my mind all these years.

Alas, I found you!

A Call From My Boss

My boss is an alcoholic and a drunkard. There isn't one night that he is not drunk. Usually... he would be drunk by 8pm and would simply sms or call any one of us. This is the recent call that he called me for and asked me to remind him the next day. Thank god I was in front of my lappie when he called. And here goes...

"David...err...errr..Floorbright Celcom site ah...errr.. for amanah, errr....the issue with ramcel where they are giving a few free sites to make up the ROI...errr... they have got also spectacular which very confident haven sold gombak and seberang jaya....errr... please remind me tomorrow as I can't remember now...errr... okay."

Would you understand what is he trying to say? These are his exact words.

To Tell Or Not To Tell

I guess in life, there are times we should tell, but when we tell, it has to be at the right moment, place and time. Not telling for the sake of telling. Sometimes by telling, it will make the matter worst if the time is not suitable. I guess to master this, it has to come with age.

Weird Dreams

I had 3 dreams yesterday, of which, I only managed to remember 2. Therefore, let me start with the first dream.

Dream 1
I dreamt that I was heading to work in USM (I used to have the same dream before but it was in UTM) and I was with Jeffery Chan heading up hill which was kinda steep. In order to get to the faculty, I had to make a U-turn at the steepest edge of the hill and I was very surprised that the car didn't over turn. Deep in my heart, I was very afraid that it will tumble, luckily it did not. I did questioned why. But I guess it was cause of Feng Shui. I also noticed that this place is filled with ponds which are also for Feng Shui purpose and I was looking for Water Lillies (Lotus) to put in my pond. LOL.

The last time I dreamt of it, I was going back to the hostel and the parking was horrible. This time, the parking was smacked just right in front of the entrance and I was hesitating on whether should I park my car there.

Dream 2

Dream 2 is about MC Lai. It was a sweet dream but I can't remember any bits of it.

Dream 3

In dream 3, it was during Vocalholics practise. Penny was coaching us. Was singing there with Coleen, Wendy, Kat & Eason. We had a new edition into the group. It was Mariah Carey. We were practising O-Holy Night. Was fun. Eason was busy doing high pitch challenging hers. In the midst of the practise, Mariah had a call from a live TV and she was speaking in french interrupting our practises.

Therefore these are one of the weirdest dreams that I could remember for the night. I thought it would be better that I pen it down before I forget everything.

Famous Assam Laksa Seller

I had another weird dream. This time it is about Audrey Chong. She is supposed to be owning the most famous Assam Laksa shop in Penang. I do not know why but I am supposed to be dropped off in her shop. Jesie (her previous secretary) was driving a school bus fetching all of us (Opti and Navia) either to send us home or drop us off somewhere but I insisted in being dropped off at her shop, for what reason, I wouldn't know.

Her shop was super busy until she jammed up the road with customers. The traffic was practically not moving. And I do not know why I am insisting to be dropped off there. And it is not anywhere in KL but the super busy Penang (Beach Street) off Jalan 222. Weird right?

I didn't manage to conclude the dream as I suddenly awoke. Immediately I called her and she says that I have a "thing" for her. OMG!!!!!

Eugene

Gene just came over to drop by. We kinda had a good chat. Damn how could he be so rich that he can go to Hong Kong huh? I must save more money!!!

Quote Of The Day

We are meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?

Dreaming of Death

I woke up today feeling bad after having a very weird dream. It all started when I had this vision during Chinese New Year reunion dinner. And my uncle wasn't present. Usually he would be back to have the reunion dinner and if he is not present too, he would probably call back to talk to everyone. But this year was extremely quiet. Nobody mentioned a word about it and even when I asked, nobody answered but quickly brush it off.

Sigh... the the second vision I had was I suddenly recollected the memories of having a car accident on a cliff with my uncle sitting next to me. The car is hanging and only minutes to fall. My uncle pushed me off the car and the next thing I know, he fell off the cliff with the car. And that's the end of his life. I regretted that I couldn't do anything about it. And I do not know whether was it real or I was just imagining. I then woke up in the midst of dreaming and awake. I so wanted to call my mom to ask her if uncle was dead.

I just don't like waking up with that sudden feeling. Having the thought of being alone scares me. That is the reason why I wanna wake up before Dexter. It would be not as scary....

Sigh! I hate it!

Melaka

Followed Dexter and Adeline back to Melaka for the weekend. They had to have their annual Cheng Beng and I just tag along to have a breakaway. Didn't do much and sleep much too. Am damn tired. LOL. During the afternoon we went to Kenny Loo's shop. (Dexter's ex Lit teacher).

We kinda spent 1 hour there chatting. It was rather a good chat as instead of being a teacher/student relationship, I think they have started to be friends. I've even offered my place for him to stay for the weekend should he come up to KL. Yes. He's having relationship problems.

Am now on Adeline's bed, blogging with my eyes half closed. Gonna let her drive later. Am dead tired. Gonna have dinner later and I have a feeling that the food is great!

Resignation

I tendered my resignation today and guess what? My 'ex-boss' came to me asking me out for a drink wanting me to talk about it. Isn't it ironic? Some people really live their life in their own world.

I guess even the blind can feel what the hell is happening to the whole organisation and why would people want to leave drastically; yet he wants to talk about it? What is there to talk about in the first place? Every part, every division, every segment, every people, every management, everything in the company has something to be talked about.

So where should I start if he wants me to really talk? HIM? hahahahahaha Nobody calls him Stupid Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb for no reason.

Sorted

Part of my life is sorted currently. Received the offer letter and verbally resigned. Just wondering when will the company release me. Emotionally I am kinda relieved.

Feeling Blue

Woke up today feeling quite blue despite getting the offer. Am feeling alone today. I dunno why, but I just feel the distance. Sigh.... Just let it be.

I can't find my resignation letter. Not in this laptop I guess. Should be on my external hard disk. And now it's time to get another external hard disk. Too many files to clean here. Sigh.

Coffee Bean at Jaya 33

Here I am sitting alone at Coffee Bean in Jaya 33 awaiting for my second meet up to discuss about my 'future', career wise, so that I can pick up the bits and pieces which was ripped off from me ever since 2008. Never appreciated, never motivated, never trusted until the extend I asked myself, what the hell is wrong with me. But, I found that the problem is not me.

It is the whole company itself. Working in there is as if working in a cowboy town. People only treat this company as their retirement home and hopefully get to be the blue eye boy of the company by being politically corrupted. This is one clear example of what is right, turn wrong and what is wrong, turns out right. Can you believe that?

I do hope this would be a new beginning for me to start of my second phase of life. Can see that it's a good company. Looks promising especially where there's strong backing point. A good place to start planning, strategising and executing it.

Am still waiting for his arrival. I do hope we will have a fruitful out of this meet up as I really need to go. Too much time, health and energy has been wasted. I need a brand new start.

Wish me luck!

Spending Earth Hour with the Vocalholics

Our first contact with our talent manager was on March 6. It was a request for the Vocalholics (Yes! the acapella group that I am performing with) to perform 3 sets of songs for 15 mins at a charity event called Speeding with the Stars in conjunction with Earth Hour on 28 March 2009.

Since it is an Earth Hour event, the guests will observe 1 hour in darkness with only candle lights and street lamps(don't expect TNB to turn it off). There will also be 10 Malaysian a.k.a. I dun know and I dun care who the hell they are celebrities and lots of media coverage - Errr... I only see 2 camera men and 1 video camera which supposedly gives us "good publicity" for our "CV". Unfortunately, after googling my way through today I found NOTHING on the VOCALHOLICS! Instead, there were some bloggers wondering howcome suddenly there's idiots singing in the middle of their peaceful dinner.

We did practice independently on our own for this gig despite not having much support during that period of practising. Everyone of us was sick except Wendy. We even had to lower down the key for certain songs to accommodate the voices. We were really not at our utmost performance. The matter got worst when one of the member decided pull out and to know that we will be singing.... MIC-less. Can you imagine having to out sing the crickets, the crowd and noises with only 4 voices?

However, we did come up with some good tunes and managed to pull it through... Feel free to enjoy some of it.

How Do You Mend A Broken Heart. Ask Dr LaVide

There are four stages that one goes through on the road to forgiveness. Each stage is healthy and normal. Although the feelings associated may feel anything but normal. To review, I have listed the stages below.

Stage one: The first stage is hurt. When someone causes you deep pain as a result of betrayal or loss of trust, the natural response is to feel hurt. This stage is the result of feeling that you have been treated unfairly by someone you care deeply for.

Stage two: The second stage is anger. The memory of how painful you feel turns to thoughts of anger. You may even think about how you wish the other person would suffer as much as you are. Unlike hurt, which can leave you feeling vulnerable, anger can be very empowering. Some people may experience thoughts of revenge. This is also normal, it is when thoughts turn to actions or behaviors that can cause a person to do or say things they later regret.

Stage three: The third stage is healing. To arrive at healing, you will need to have gone through the first two stages. Stage three requires seeing the person who hurt you from a different perspective. Here you might try to see things through the other person’s eyes, trying to understand why and how he could have done the behaviors he did. Empathy is a necessary step to healing.

Stage four: The final stage is forgiveness. Forgiveness is when you invite the person who has wronged you back into your life. Although this doesn’t have to be in the literal sense, it can just be in your heart and mind without the other person being present. For most people the stage of forgiveness is very difficult to reach. Here you realize that the other person is fallible; that in a loving relationship each partner will hurt the other from time to time. This doesn’t mean you are a doormat, it means that you are able to rise above the behavior to see into the heart of the other person.

Your boyfriend/girlfriend is in stage 1 where you are at stage 4. This is why he/she is grieving and you feel helpless. In order to move forward, it will be necessary for you to join him/her in stage one. You can do this by setting aside some time when the two of you can talk without being interrupted. You can begin the process by telling him/her what it felt like for you to watch him/her choose others over you. Reliving the unpleasant emotions will not be an easy experience. Try not to avoid the painful feelings by jumping to stage four. Instead, allow your boyfriend/girlfriend to hear how his/her behavior affected you. Give him permission to tell you how he/she grieves over the knowledge of causing you pain.

After you both have shared your painful experience, you can then move to share with your boyfriend/girlfriend what it was like for you to be angry with him/her and his/her lover. Allow him/her time to understand your feelings. He/her may even have had similar feelings toward you for how he/her perceived you behaved and for him/her at how he/her perceived feeling trapped. It may be hard for each of you to hear the other’s experience, but it is a necessary step towards forgiveness.

After each of you have shared your own emotions and have heard the other’s experience, you are then ready to move on to stage three, healing. Stage three may take longer to move through then the first two stages as healing requires each person to ‘let go’ of the past and focus on the present. Also, stage three is an opportunity for the two of you to go through together. In order to go through this stage, talk about what steps or ritual you both will use to demonstrate healing. How will each of you mark the ‘letting go’ process? What steps will be taken to avoid this kind of situation in the future?

The experience of going through the stages of forgiveness with your boyfriend/girlfriend will bring the two of you closer together. By sharing feelings, showing empathy for the other, each of you has an opportunity to re-establish trust which can only strengthen your relationship and your love for each other.

Stage Play with Dupont Prevathon

Can you believe that I could sing and act on stage? I always thought it was for kids for their yearly concert. Never did I know I will dress up with props on the stage and perform. The only difference is, this time I'm being paid.

It was a night to remember – both LiT Performers and Stilettos were onstage to light up the launch of DuPont’s innovative pest control solution named Prevathon. The launch was held in a ballroom in the JW Marriott in Bukit Bintang on the 18th of February 2009.

As the audience dined, LiT Performers (me included) stepped up and entertained them with a mini musical based on the effectiveness of Prevathon at keeping crops healthy. It was a light-hearted show about farmers who are plagued by pests and sceptical of Prevathon, both of which are represented by the Bugster and Prevathon Man. Naturally, the Prevathon Man prevailed and the farmers lived happily ever after.

Stilettos then proceeded to spice up the night in their sassy black dresses, dazzling the audience with powerful vocals from all three members. They returned after a break for a second set of songs.

Ywenna provided the music for both performances. It was overall a very good exposure. And of course, I need to train more of my interaction with the audience.

How Did I Celebrate My Big 30

My 30th birthday is special. The day started at midnight with Dexter pouring 2 glasses of champagne served with an ice-cream cake (real ice cream okay!) on the dining table singing a sweet happy birthday melody to me. It was really touching. At the same moment MC, Deffrick, and Doris sent sweet messages at the stroke of midnight and with Sheau Yuh calling me and singing me a birthday song. I didn't even know that woman could sing. Surprised? hahahhaha... And even facebook, the walls are flooded with so many wishes. I was telling myself that I will have to spend a lot of time returning my thanks. And of course, I started designing and posted my pre-birthday celebration pics at Penang with my mom and sister on Facebook. Yeah. I neglected the blog but it's still not to late right?

We kept the birthday very mellow this year. Even in the office. Nobody knows that it's my birthday except for Zoe and Doris. We didn't make a big hooha as it's a Thursday night and I have a singing practice for the Prevathon gig. Furthermore, I didn't really like to have it in the office, especially this one!

I was surprised when I came back home after the practise seeing 2 boxes. 1 big and 1 small. Guess what's the big box consist? A sit up bench. The girls knows that I always wanted this. LOL... Yeah it was exactly the one that I wanted. And then I went on greedy. I wanted more. Therefore, I upgraded the item. (Girls, you both could start coming to my home and have ur part time gym work out here. Too bad, there is no fish spa around to suck the fats out of ur feet for u.) Thanks Zoe! Thanks Doris but I will not forget how you conned me into my underwear!

The second box consist of 2 shirts. Very nice. Deep down inside me I would personally think that this present is the best. How I wish it came before Chinese New Year hence I could show it around. Thanks Dexter! It's very sweet.

I have other presents too. A masquerade bottle from MC which created suspicion from Deffrick. Cufflings from Sonia. Cocktail Mixer and a straw hat from Lynn and Ming. Shirt and Teddy Bear from Deffrick. Thanks MC! Thanks Deff! Thanks Sonia! Thanks Lynn! Thanks Ming! It is very sweet of you.

We went out to gather on a Friday night instead. Frangi! Yeah! I had a lot of fun there. Thanks Dex for the sweet night out! I know you have spent a lot which is not necessary. Thanks everyone for coming - including Cyrus!

I had practise again on Saturday. And guess what I got this time? A Chocolate brownies from Coleen! It was so tasty that I even forget to snap a picture to remember how it looked like. All I know is that my stomach gulp it immediately with no second glance to spare!

And 2 more person that I should not miss to thank. My mom and sis. Thanks to you both for the sweet touching night! Wishing you both forever happiness and health!

All these events really make me to start reflecting on how should I start my life at 30. That's why you saw the resolutions that I have made on the previous entry.

I thank you all once again! May you be well and happy!
