Shopping Inside a Chinese Wal-Mart in China

We know that we do our grocery shopping in hypermarkets ie. Tesco, Cold Storage or even Giant and Carrefour rather than the wet markets nowadays. However I came across these pictures that a friend forwarded to me and I found it rather 'interesting'. Upon seeing those pictures, I can't help but to put myself in this picture and thought... What happens if Malaysia is a Non-Halal country? Will I be ready to see the upcoming items below in the hypermarts when I do my grocery shopping? I am certainly not ready. Are you?

Item No 1. Crocodiles at the Fish Monger Counter

How many of us would be prepared to see dead crocodiles lying on this counter? If I were to be doing my grocery shopping, I would be freaked out by now or lost my appetite totally. No doubt, I am used to seeing baby sharks, stingrays or eels etc, and despite knowing the fact that these crocs are already dead, they still looked so alive! Wouldn't you be scared when you see them lying next to you when you are choosing your fish? You would be half thinking if these crocs would suddenly come alive and bite of ur fingers! LOL!

Item No 2. Frogs and Terrapins

Alright. These are not that freaky. I've seen frogs alive in cages in night markets, so, this is normal. However, I will always have the uneasiness buying live food off the rack and get the butcher to kill it for you. It's rather gross. Imagine yourself picking up the terrapin while choosing it and it turn it's neck around and bite you? I still remembered buying live crabs on the streets of Jalan Puchong and didn't know how to kill it when I get home. Although my mom asked me to shove the back of the crab with 2 sharp chop sticks and it will die naturally, and some asked me to just dump them into the heated wok to be baked, I find it too cruel. You know what I did? I dumped them into the freezer and let them freeze to death then cook them... LOL!

Item No 3. Pickled Frogs

 

Yes. I ate 'balut' before, live 'sago' worms and I do eat frogs. But seeing the image of a full pickled frog in the bottle totally gross me out. YUCKS! EEWW!!!! How on earth would one person be able to eat stuff like this? If you ever gonna feed me with this, make sure you blind fold me!

Item No. 4 Diet Water

I hope they are joking and it is only a brand. What do you mean by diet water? Does one get fat by consuming water? LOL! So does that mean that the more you drink this water the more you slim down? If yes, I'm so gonna get a bottle of these water then!

Item No 5. Men's Disposable Bikini Underwear

 

I find this rather hilarious. I've seen men's disposable underwear before but a disposable BIKINI???? I so wanna see the real thing on how it looks like. From the view of this picture, it DOES NOT look sexy at all.

Item No 6. Meat Water

See the flavours of these drinks? Interesting isn't it? What would one feel after drinking these water? Does one get  full and stuffed by drinking these water or puke all the way? I for one would not want to drink it. I don't mind eating the food tho...but not by drinking pecking duck drink.... it makes me wanna puke by having this thought!

Last but not least. Item No. 7 Variety of PORK Selection!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Malaysia should have this section. I love these part of the China's Wal-Mart. I don't mind it at all. Roasted pig's head goes very well with porridges.... and look at the amount of meat, AWESOME!
